Heather was born in Toronto, and educated in Ontario, Canada and St. Louis, Missouri. Growing up in her ancestral family home Heather was fascinating stories and artifacts of her family’s travels along Asia’s Silk Road, the Mayflower, organ building, and the fur trade. These settlers were builders of the New World who dared to step out of their comfort zone.

Heather’s grandmother Mary Follett made worldwide excursions, Nile cruises, and North American adventures by glider and by canoe in rugged Temagami and Missouri rivers well into her late 80s.

Here was born Heather’s desire to discover the world, love of family and people of varied cultures, it is no surprise she loves travel, archaeology, and history. Heather also developed a keen sense of public service and a desire to improve the human condition.

As a fundraiser Heather spearheaded a 50,000 pound food drive, bike-a-thons, soup kitchen and many other fundraising events. Heather was a political delegate and volunteer, member of the IODE, supporter of organizations such as World Vision, Doctors without Borders.

Heather has travelled extensively; among her favorite places are the Caribbean, Hong Kong, Japan and the Baltic just to name a few. Heather loves water, whether piloting her own boat or cruising with others in the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Baltic or Indian Ocean. Heather believes the world is infinitely beautiful; everyone should get out to see it and its people.

As an entrepreneur, Heather was co-owner and operator of a travel agency, and learned extensively the ins and outs of retail and wholesale travel and destination management business. Heather applies her extensive background in marketing, brand awareness and management to her writing and travel repertoire. Using her experience, she hopes to encourage everyone to travel and see the world.

Heather loves languages and enjoys the ability to use German, French and Spanish. She is able to quickly pick up enough rudimentary phrases of a new language to engage people she meets and break the ice. She enjoys the challenge and people appreciate the effort. Nuances and third level meanings aid in conversation and travel.
